I'm Jenn Yee, and this is my blog. In November 2007, I was laid off from an Internet startup (dot.com club!) and since then I have been employing a bunch of different ways to keep writing. This is one of them.

I go to business school where I learn about things like marginal cost and infant HIV diagnostics. It's not entirely clear what I am doing here, but it goes something like this: business can make an impact. If I am a businessperson, I can make an impact.

In the meantime, I have left my beloved New York for the Great Midwest. It's not bad other than the days when it doesn't get above zero. I don't leave the college town much, but there is a spot on campus where you can stand and see the Chicago skyline, miles away.

When I started my first blog in March 2006, this is what I wrote to my friends and family. I think it still applies today:

About 75,000 blogs are created every day, so I thought I'd get on the boat.

I think I started this "weblog" for the same reasons that everyone else does - because I'm in danger of letting things slip by without really seeing them - and also because I wanted to put up an online portfolio of things I've written, and published, and of things I'm writing now.

And, to be totally honest, since you are all my friends, I will tell you that I have no idea how to make a "real" website. So I made this one instead. Hope you enjoy it.
